What type of accommodation can I book at the establishment?
The hotel offers several room categories: Standard, Classic, Superior, Deluxe and Junior Suite.
Only our Superior and Junior Suite rooms can accommodate 3 people. Of our three Junior Suites, only one can accommodate 4 people, but it is not available for online booking for 4 people. It is therefore necessary to contact us by e-mail or telephone to make this reservation.
Some of our rooms are connected. Room 1 communicates with room 2, offering a total capacity of 5 people. Room 3 communicates with room 4, also for 5 people, and the same applies to rooms 5 and 6. Room 7 communicates with room 8, for a total capacity of 7 people. Finally, rooms 11 and 12 are connected and can accommodate 4 people. Please contact us for further details.

Dogs are welcome, but cannot be left alone in the room. And we no longer accept cats.
Is the hotel suitable for families?
Changing mats, cots, bottle warmers and high chairs are available in all our establishments to cater for families.

The Hôtel du Château has a PMR room on the garden level. However, our reception area, bar and breakfast room are not wheelchair accessible.

How do I get to the facility?
Take the A61, exit at Carcassonne Est (exit 24) then the RN113 towards “Cité Médiévale”.
The hotel is at the foot of the medieval Cité’s Tours Narbonnaises.
Does the hotel offer an airport shuttle?
Our establishment does not offer an airport shuttle service. However, we can arrange a cab upon request. Municipally-run shuttles are also available, but cannot be booked in advance. Drop-off is in front of the city entrance, just 50 meters from the hotel.
Is it easy to park your car on the premises?
The hotel has a secure private parking lot reserved for guests. The charge is €15 per day. Electric vehicles can be recharged using simple sockets at a cost of €10 per charge, and we have plenty of sockets available, so there’s no need to reserve them.
Nearby, several public parking areas are available, notably around the Cité Médiévale. Remember to check the times and rates for parking lots P0, P1 and P2 near the ramparts. Please note that these parking lots are often fully booked and can be much more expensive than the hotel car park. Please note that, unlike the hotel car park, they are completely unsecured and unsupervised.
Is it possible to charge your vehicle in the hotel's parking lot?
At our hotel, we prefer to offer simple electrical outlets instead of fast charging stations. Why? Because our parking lot is not a quick stop like those found on highways, in supermarkets, or at restaurants. Our guests typically stay for at least 8 hours, providing ample time to charge their vehicles. Opting for fast charging stations would incur additional costs for our guests, as they would have to pay for the station’s downtime beyond the actual charging time. On average, the immobilization of a charging station costs between 5 and 20 times more than the charge itself.
Moreover, think about the convenience: arriving at 8 PM to charge your vehicle and coming back a few hours later to move it, or arriving late at night without having to wake up to move your car. Electrical outlets are not only practical but also cost-effective: a full charge at a highway fast charger can cost between €20 and €40, depending on the provider. With us, why not enjoy the simplicity and cost savings of using our plentiful outlets? Unlike many other hotels that only offer a few charging stations, our facilities guarantee easy access without the hassle or long waits for all our guests.
Is the facility close to the city center?
In Carcassonne, it’s important not to confuse the city center or Bastide Saint-Louis with the Cité Médiévale, as these are two distinct areas separated by around 15 minutes on foot. The Hôtel du Château is ideally located, offering privileged access to both the Cité Médiévale (1 minute on foot) and Carcassonne city center (15 minutes on foot).

How do I get to the facility?
From Montpellier:
Take the A709 at the Saint Jean de Védas toll, then exit N°29 towards La Grande Motte via the D66, D21 then D62. Continue towards Aigues Mortes on the D62.
From Nîmes: exit N°26 Gallargues then follow signs for Aigues Mortes on the D979.
From Arles: follow signs for Aigues Mortes on the D570.
Please note that the hotel is located inside the Remparts, in a pedestrian zone. As soon as you arrive in the town, don’t try to enter the walls; the only access is reserved for local residents. Park in parking lot P1 (if fully booked, wait in front of the barrier – you won’t have to wait long, as there are a lot of cars changing hands). You can also park in parking lot P2, which is also very close to the hotel. Parking lots P3 and P4 are also accessible, but are much further from the hotel. Once you’ve parked your car, walk along the ramparts and enter the walls through the Porte de la Gardette (between parking lots P1 and P2).
Once inside, the hotel is immediately on your right. We’ll give you a card allowing you to bring your vehicle out free of charge. We also offer private garages at €25 per day, subject to availability, and non-cancellable once booked.

At our hotel, we prefer to offer simple electrical outlets instead of fast charging stations. Why? Because our parking lot is not a quick stop like those found on highways, in supermarkets, or at restaurants. Our guests typically stay for at least 8 hours, providing ample time to charge their vehicles. Opting for fast charging stations would incur additional costs for our guests, as they would have to pay for the station’s downtime beyond the actual charging time. On average, the immobilization of a charging station costs between 5 and 20 times more than the charge itself.
Moreover, think about the convenience: arriving at 8 PM to charge your vehicle and coming back a few hours later to move it, or arriving late at night without having to wake up to move your car. Electrical outlets are not only practical but also cost-effective: a full charge at a highway fast charger can cost between €20 and €40, depending on the provider.
